1.                  Review of Agenda

2.                  Subcommittee Reports

Student Training (Cindy Kelly, Marlys Scarbrough, Darlene Chirolas, Sandy Wolf, Barb Trumpinski, Sharon McFarland)  This group continues to work on developing the Illinois Compass program.  Beth has identified a graduate assistant with Illinois Compass Skills to do editing this summer

Customer Services Working Group (a subgroup of Services Advisory and this committee) (Tina Chrzastowsi, Susie Duncan, JoAnn Jacoby, Chris Johns, Debora Pfeiffer, Susan Schnuer (co-chair) Peggy Steele, John Wagstaff, Beth Woodard (co-chair) This group will meet again on June 7

Untenured Librarians (Beth Woodard, Kristin Dougan)

Graduate Assistant Training (no formal group)  Beth will send emails to supervisors apprising them of upcoming training in August

Technology Training – Lori Mestre will do Movie maker training next week.  5 people are registered.  There was a suggestion to make it clearer what you would do with this kind of training when the reminder is sent out.  Outlook training. 159 are registered for email training with 139 for calendar training.

Retreat Planning (Scott Walter, Beth Woodard, Cindy Ingold, Emily Love, Tony Hynes), originally planned for August 13, had to be postponed as no rooms were available.  A suggestion was made to expand membership and Beth will raise this with Scott Walter.  It is also important to close the loop and let people know the results of the last retreat and what was done with the information from the survey.

4.                  Discussion and Suggestions

It was suggested that we need more training on coping with change, but perhaps another perspective or another presenter should be explored.

There was some discussion about the faculty meeting where training needs and how to run meetings was discussed.  There was a suggestion to have someone hold an orientation for committee chairs on how to run meetings and set agendas and write minutes, while committee members need discussion on what the expectations of them as good committee members are.  So running meetings was one priority suggested for next year. 

Outlook training for late fall was also noted.

VuFind training for staff is also needed.

Other interface changes include  Proquest, lexis-nexis, and the inclusion of e-books in the ORR.

More project management training was suggested.

Publicizing the CLaSS workshops more was discussed.

Using Webjunction as a group was also discussed.

Customer Services should also be a priority.

For GA training, CMS, LibGuides, Voyager Staff side for ACQ and Cataloging should be added in earlier in the training, but Camtasia training and scholarly commons orientation should be included at a later date.

 

5.                  Future Meetings

The July 6 meeting was cancelled.  The group will meet again on August 3, 2010.
