Staff Development and Training Commitee Minutes

February 23, 2004

Present:  Beth Woodard, Susie Duncan, Diana Walters, Michael Norman, John Weible, Joe Zumalt

Absent:  Sue Searing, Lisa Hinchliffe

The committee reviewed Beth’s draft request for the budget committee and decided not to ask for a session that combined several Microsoft products at this time.

The discussion of how to encourage NetG training continued.  It was determined that it would probably take 1- 1 ½ hours on how to set up your account, what is in NetG, etc.  We could have each person choose their own session.  Every 2 weeks for 3 times, then 1 time a month.

The Windows needs could be met with NetG training, but may need to do some one on one sessions.

We need to Prioritize the sessions for immediate, then future, for at least the next 6 months.

The still high interest in Acquisitions training was discussed, even after all the sessions Lisa has held.  An open house was suggested.  Michael thought that Cataloging might want to consider one as well, and will take this to the Technical Services discussion.

Beth will bring a prioritized list to the next meeting, and will contact the individuals whom we have identified need to give us more information.

We will return to working on the orientation checklist.
