Faculty Staff Assistance Program
The LSSC continues to work towards improving relationships between Library Staff and Library Administration. Over the years, LSSC has successfully achieved several goals.
It is always nice to find the information and/or resource you need in a timely fashion. In 2009, the LSSC took part in re-organizing the Library Staff Web Page.
Also in 2009, we had Facilities put a shelved cabinet in the break room where Library Staff can share personally owned reading material (mostly books).
Morale is key to a successful working environment. In 2000 the first morale survey was completed. We are happy to report that many of the issues and concerns stated in the survey have been addressed and/or completed. View the 2000 Morale Survey, which includes updated progress reports.
In 2007, we decided to do a second morale survey. Several issues/concerns were identified and we are continuing to work on resolving them. View the identified issues/concerns. To view the final report of the 2007 morale survey click here.
The first Staff retreat was held August 10, 2000 and was a huge success. We have been in communication with Administration to receive approval for a second Staff retreat. Our goal is to schedule it during Summer 2009.
April 2002 the fourth floor break rooms were remodeled. Remodel consisted of fresh paint, new carpeting, and new furniture.
In 1999 brown directories on first floor were removed due to extensive errors.
In 1999 we pushed for changes in the parking lot lighting ; changes done in 2000. Parking lot was re-surfaced and lights were replaced again in 2007.
In June, July, and August of 2000 MS Word and MS Excel classes were held. Since then the Staff Training Committee was created and they have held numerous MS Office training sessions. In2004 we conducted an MS training needs survey.
In January 2001 we pushed for a coffee cart, along with CPS – eventually Espresso Royale opened in the tunnel.
Based on the findings of the 2007 Morale Survey the Library Staff Training committee organized/arranged Supervisory Training. Read the presentation.
