Resolution to Replace Roberts Rules of Order with Sturgis

Whereas the University Library by-laws stipulate the use of Roberts Rules of Order for faculty meetings;

And whereas The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure, commonly called Sturgis, is a much more simplified and user-friendly parliamentary procedures manual;

And whereas the American Library Association and many other professional bodies use Sturgis;

Resolved that the University Library By-Laws Committee formulate a by-laws amendment to replace Roberts Rules of Order with The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure.
