Exhibitions Committee Meeting Minutes
September 13, 2011

Present: Lonnie Clark, Chris Johns & Jody Waitzman
Absent: Pat Miller
Filling cases in the Marshall Gallery and North-South corridor for FY2012 is about halfway scheduled. The scheduled September exhibits didn’t materialize. A follow up with the Campus Sustainability group informed us they didn’t know anything about setting up a display, and the GA who was scheduled to display in the Marshall Gallery requested another month (January). Chris will install an exhibit of the publications of the Prairie Research Institute to remain through September.
Approach to a full schedule include:
Calendar updates (Lonnie) to be done include adding any missing already-scheduled exhibits to the Committee webtools calendar, making sure all exhibits are included on the Library event calendar (work with Heather Murphy on this if needed), and adding to the exhibits history maintained on the G-drive. Lonnie will experiment with importing our calendar items into the Library calendar and report back at the October meeting.
Chris agreed to contact all exhibitors a few weeks prior to their scheduled installation to confirm, hopefully avoiding the empty-case syndrome.
Chris edited the existing web, simplifying the navigation and replacing some outdated images with new ones. A link to a new version of the first floor map of exhibit cases was repaired during the meeting. The following need to be done yet:
We decided it would be appropriate to add some how-to articles/videos based on Committee projects to the web such as how to make exhibit risers.
Chris will send out her summary of old issues gleaned from reviewing past committee minutes. We may find some things that still require attention.
