Review of Draft Strategic Plan
April 10, 2006
What is particularly compelling and creative about this plan?
- The plan does a nice job of extending beyond campus, for ideas, initiatives and resources.
- Gaming for the Ages and IDEALS - these are interesting and compelling programs with wide
appeal.
- The plan includes an honest appraisal of ranking - good focus on future, rather than the past,
i.e., it seem reasonable and appropriate to focus on digitizing as the future.
Is there potential for partnership and collaboration in the goals and plans of this unit
with other units? Are there linkages with campus plan?
- Connections to Integrated Science for Health are clear and helpful.
Are there missing elements in the plan? Do the unit's goals balance importance and
feasibility?
- The goals that are articulated in the plan seem a diffuse and random; could the plan be
tightened to prioritize key goals?
- The mission could be better clarified.
- The plan would be strengthened if measurable goals were articulated; without specific metrics,
it will be difficult to evaluate accomplishments and it is difficult to evaluate feasibility.
