Re: Task Force for P&T Documentation
FRC and PTA have been discussing updating the Library statement on P&T as well as the Substitute Section III Communication 9. Both groups are a bit loaded in the coming year and the next with several faculty who will be 4Y and 5Y. Thus, faculty documentation is crucial for guiding both the candidates and the PTA/FRC.
We recommend the creation of a Task Force to examine and suggest changes to update these documents. The Task Force may have at least one member from PTA and from FRC who are members of those committees for at least two years because of their experience and institutional memory; further, comprised of tenured faculty members, preferably who have served on either committee.
We have consulted one AUL who believes this task force could present an improved document for review by both committees and recommendations before it proceeds to EC and the faculty. However, if we are to get documentation ready for late January, the Task Force will need to be put together and working on this very soon.
