Present: Paula Kaufman, chair; David Ward, Vice-chair; Greg Youngen, Secretary; Paula Carns, Karen Hogenboom, JoAnn Jacoby, Bill Mischo, Sarah Shreeves; Visitor- Lynne Rudasill, Tom Teper; Recording – Kim Matherly

 

  1. 1.                  1:30 - Tom Teper – CDC

Tom came to EC to discuss the role of CDC. EC will charge a group to discuss the divisions and look at other committees that have Division representation.

 

  1. 2.                 2:00 – Lynne Rudasill

EC interviewed Lynne for the position of Head of SSHEL.

 

  1. 3.                 Approve minutes from July 5 & 11

Minutes were approved with changes.

 

  1. 4.                 Question Time

What effect will the changes in SURS have on Library employees? Paula will ask
Cindy Kelly to resend the earlier message discussing the changes and encourage interested employees to make appointments with SURS.

 

  1. 5.                 Visiting South Asian Studies Librarian

EC suggested a search committee for this position.

 

  1. 6.                 Committee Assignments

EC began looking at assignments.

 

  1. 7.                 Discuss topics for next AUL/EC meeting (8/1)

EC will ask the AULs what topic they would like to discuss.

 

  1. 8.                      Appoint Campus Equal Employment Opportunity Officer, Affirmative Action Officer, Inclusive Illinois Representative

EC made suggestions for these appointments.

 

  1. 9.                 Follow up on different ways for people to talk with EC members

This was deferred to another meeting.

 

  1. 10.            Personnel Issue

This issue will be handled by email.

 

  1. 11.              AP Requirements and Faculty Reviews

This was deferred to another meeting.

 

12. Multicultural Services

Cindy Ingold’s reassignment was approved. This position will report to the Office of Services.
