Meeting MINUTES

 

October 19, 2010

Present: Cindy Ingold (chair), Emily Love, Paula Carns, Kim Matherly, Geoff Ross, Gennye Varvel, Pam Ward

 

AGENDA

 

  1. Approval of September14 minutes

Approved with changes.

 

  1. Diversity Statement-Where are we

Emily will forward to Paula Kaufman. Emily will apply for a marketing grant to have cards made with the statement to put into new hire packets, break rooms, etc.

 

  1. Fall Programming

No news from Cindy Kelly. Cindy Ingold will follow up.

 

Emily will send information out on Libnews.

o   Dates/Location

November 10 at 10:00am in 428 Library. November 15 at 3:00pm in 295 UGL.

o   Refreshments

Kim will pick up refreshments.

 

  1. Updates:

Cindy and Emily made a 15 minute presentation during the new GA orientation.

 

There were about 40 people at the Diversity Round Table at GSLIS. Faculty and Students talked about their work.

 

 

5.      New Business

Come up with a civility statement to put on t-shirts to sell in the Library.

 

Emily saw an exhibit in Ontario called the Forgiveness Project (http://theforgivenessproject.com) that she would like to see the Diversity Committee support, with sponsors from someone else on campus (i.e. Krannert Center for Performing Arts) to bring to the Library. She'll send info out to the committee.
