Target date to share Primo URL with library is mid-October. Before sharing library-wide, we need to finish setting up the facets, finalize advanced search screen (especially adding searches that are possible in Voyager Classic that are not available in VuFind), and update the catalog, SFX, and IDEALS data feeds. The release will also include some of the ContentDM collections but not all and activated Primo Central collections. We also need to finalize the Sign-In screen and confirm that MyAccount is accurately displaying Voyager loan information. We will also have a demo version of EasySearch with Primo as a target to share at the same time.
Later versions of Primo will incorporate Archon and additional ContentDM collections. The custom tile version may or may not be ready to share in mid-October.
Primo having problems ingesting records with more than 800 item records attached. There are approximately 110 problematic records but some have as thousands of item records attached. The solution is a project to create summary holdings in the MFHDs and unlink the item records.
Appears on the main search page (http://uofi-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com:1701/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?dscnt=1&dstmp=1348600997453&vid=UIU&fromLogin=true). The language needs to be reviewed and refined for the page as well as the FAQ. The Venn diagram also needs to be tweaked so that “Illinois Collections” is only partially inside the “Primo” circle.
Kick-off overview should be in Library 66 in the second week of October (specific date depends on the availability of Library 66). The committee brainstormed ideas for the kick off overview and weekly sessions. Michael asked that Jenny, Beth, and Lisa meet to develop the introductory part of the session that focuses on what is Primo, when to use it, and how it fits in the library tools landscape. Possibly weekly topics include online catalog representation in Primo, including FRBR and deduplication, eShelf, requesting items, citation tools, and EBSCO. There will also be an update presentation at the Faculty Meeting on October 17.
We are already using the name Primo fairly extensively and people are already referring to it as Primo. The committee decided that the name will be Primo.
Need a process for intake and processing the feedback. The committee decided to use an email alias. Michael will ask Library IT to set up an alias.
Bill shared an example of a search for virtual supermarket research consumer food purchasing. Many of the items are duplicative of each other. We need Ex Libris to improve the function that collates all versions of a single item together.
Parking Lot of Topics for Future Meetings:
