Update on Conference Call
- We won't be live until June per ExLibris’ schedule
- We can add up to 15 EBSCO databases using their API
- Need to be logged in to see EBSCO results
- Wendy has talked to Marci (ExLibris) about getting our SFX data into primo central
- We wonder if we can use VuFind logins within Primo, but doubt it is possible
- There are concerns that some items may get represented twice in Primo
- Concerns that FRBRization of records may not be done well
Training
- Email LibNews on why Primo is important to everyone (once website is live)
- Go through divisions
- Have a big intro session of our vision, why we selected Primo, what our vision of it is, and what we may be able to do down the road
- Have at least 1 all staff open session similar to the Web Voyage Stuff sessions & raffle prizes
- Have a smaller team devoted to training
- Get ideas from other institutions how they handled communication & training
- Talk to law library on the impact Primo will have to them
- Develop a 1 page set of talking points to send to everyone who talks to a group about Primo
- Timing: We should introduce Primo now but not have the forum until we have no answers
- Show what is improved with a new product
- Put minutes on website, send email and RSS--Robert will set up
- Develop a FAQ to put on website
- Minutes will be kept for each meeting and posted for public review
Future
- We’re going to set aside time in future meetings to discuss relevant research done on various discovery issues. The first will be March 7 when Jim Hahn & David Ward will talk about autocomplete
