1. Appointment of Note-Taker

Walter volunteered to take the minutes.

2. Additions to the Agenda

None

3. Announcements

Kern announced that Spring "Sweeps Week" data collection would take place March 8 - 14, 2010.

Slater and Steele announced that the "Mobile Services Team" would make a beta site available for user testing from the Library Gateway on March 1st. User input will help to shape a possible request for ongoing funding support for mobile services development from Library IT. The mobile site can be previewed at http://hades.grainger.uiuc.edu/josh/2009projects/mobile/main.html

Steele announced that the "TomCat" version of Voyager would be available for user testing from the Library Gateway in early March. CARLI would like to see how TomCat performs under heavy use and will be increasing access to the catalog as Spring semester goes on. More information on Urbana Campus participation in TomCat testing will be provided on LIBNEWS-L.

Walter announced the availability of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's new "institutional profile" through the Association of Research Libraries' Web site at http://directors.arl.org/wiki/institution-profiles

4. Annual Report of the Associate University Librarian for Services

Walter provided a draft of his 2009 annual report, which will be posted later this month at http://www.library.illinois.edu/staff/

The committee discussed the importance of the goals related to the review and synthesis of Unit Annual Reports (available at http://www.library.illinois.edu/planning/), and the integration of information from those reports into Library strategic planning, budgeting, and public relations efforts.
