Draft Policy: Presence in Building After Hours Policy

After hours policy recognizes that:

  1. the safety and security of staff and security of collections is paramount;
  2. Library faculty need after hours access to the building in order to meet research and publication requirements and to fulfill their responsibilities in librarianship and service;
  3. some faculty and staff may need entrance after hours for emergency access to their offices (e.g. leaving for a conference and forgot conference materials in office);
  4. some faculty and staff may need entrance after hours to carry out job responsibilities that can only be carried out after hours (e.g facilities monitoring, server maintenance, etc.)
  5. some units (e.g. Rare Book, Oak Street) may require further restrictions on access not delineated here.
