CHARGE

The Government Information Services Advisory Group advises the Coordinator of Government Information Services, Access, and Collections and the University Library on the overall formulation, development, and review of the mission, goals, plans, priorities, and strategies concerning government information. For example, the committee will consult and provide guidance on, and participate in the creation of as appropriate, the following:


COMPOSITION

The committee is composed of individuals who are actively involved in library user services in the domain of government information.  A maximum number of twelve appointees is recommended. Basic membership should incorporate the Coordinator of Government Information Services, Access, and Collections (chair), the head of a unit with teaching faculty, a librarian with an understanding of government document policy, a librarian directly involved in user education, instruction, and information literacy, a representative from RRSS, a representative from the social sciences, a representative from international and area studies or another Library depository, a representative from the Prairie Research Institute, the Coordinator for Staff Development & Training, and the AUL for Collections as ex officio.
