Information for Library Staff

The following types of serial transfers to Oak Street are currently being accepted:
- Superceded volumes when older volumes are already at Oak Street. See Guidelines for Bibliographic, Holding, and Item Records for Items Transferred to the OSLF for more information.
- Most recent bound volume of serials that are already at Oak Street. See Binding and Cataloging for Oak Street for more information.
Media Accepted at Oak Street
The following preparation activities must be done by or arranged for by the sending unit PRIOR to the piece(s) arriving at Oak Street-
Preparations:
1. Voyager bib or holding record maintenance of any kind
2. Barcoding of physical piece
3. Linking of physical barcode to correct item record in Voyager.
4. Assignment of valid Oak Street location code.
5. Assignment of valid Oak Street item type.
6. Binding preparation for unbound issues.
7. Stabilization treatment, if needed.
8. Insertion of a valid Oak Street transfer streamer produced from the Oak Street Transfers Program at
  http://www.library.uiuc.edu/voyager/oakstreetverify/index.html.
9. Packing and shipping arrangements for large quantities of materials.
