Library Activities Fiscal Years 2009-2012

These statistics represent the total number of directional and reference questions asked during the fiscal years 2009-2012. Directional and informational questions refer to things like physical location (Where is the pencil sharpener?) or library policies and procedures (How do I print?). Reference questions deal specifically with the library collection (Do you have X journal?) and how to use research resources (How can I find articles on Y?).

Numbers for FY 2012 (which ended June 30) show the Chemistry Library significantly exceeding the previous years' numbers of informational and directional questions, while reference questions were fewer.

These statistics relate the total number of items (books, bound journals, and unbound journals) shelved during the fiscal years 2009-2012. During the summer of 2010, many journal subscriptions were changed from physical materials to online access, hence the drop in the number of unbound journals shelved in FY 2010-2011.

These statistics represent the total number of conference room reservations during the fiscal years 2009-2012. The conference room gets used by Chemistry Department faculty and staff for meetings, dissertation defenses, office hours, and other activities, and by chemistry student groups for studying, practicing presentations, and other meetings.
