Search Voyager by title for these records or do a keyword search with the barcode. The barcode is embedded in the bibliographic record. Make certain there is only one record for your item.

  1. Bibliographic and/or MFHD records are suppressed and will need to be unsuppressed.
  2. Click "ok to export".
    1. a. Delete the #u nouc in the 049 field; look for the 049 both in the normal place and at the end of the bibliographic record.  If at the end you need to delete the entire field.
  3. Approval plan books will have a brief MFHD with acqapp-nc as the location.  Please replace location with the one indicated on the streamer in the book.
  4. Firm Order books should have the correct location in the MFHD.
  5. Remember to change the first indicator in the 852 to "1" and to delete the subfield 2 that appears in the 852.
  6. If you have an individual volume record, search for the set record in both Voyager and OCLC.  You may have to replace the record with the set record.  Remember to remove UIU holdings from the record you do not use.
  7. There will be some "short" records for those items not found in OCLC.  These should be searched in OCLC to see if there is a record now.  Those still without a record need to go for original cataloging.
  8. Leave the order slip in the book for both Approval and Firm Order books. The librarians in the departments will use these to check that they received everything they wanted.
