Processing Gift Books

The administration and the departmental librarians want to be able to pull information from Voyager for report purposes.

Because of this, we will now add a subfield x to the 852 in the MFHD for GIFT books.

Example:

852 1     ≠b agx ≠h  630 ≠i Un35d ≠t 1 ≠x gift

In the case of monographic sets, the subfield x gift should be added to the 863.

Example:

863  4 0   #8 1.30 #a 3 #x gift

The subfield x does not appear in the public catalog, but those people who run reports can do a gift search with a year and find all the gift books processed within that year.
