There are two ways to insert diacritics:
In order to insert a diacritic you need to have a bibliographic record open on your screen.
Click in the position in the record where you want to input a diacritic.
Click on Edit in the Menu toolbar and choose Diacritic Entry. This will display the table of diacritics from which you can highlight the one you need.
Click on the Insert/Close button. The dialogue box will close and the diacritic will appear.
Note: In this table you can click on a specific character to see its position (i.e., lower dot as opposed to upper dot).
In order to insert a diacritic you need to have a bibliographic record open on your screen.
Click in the position in the record where you want to input a diacritic.
Click on Edit in the Menu toolbar and choose Diacritic Mode. This will put the keyboard into a special mode for diacritics.
The Help function will display a chart mapping the diacritic to its appropriate key.
Click on the Help icon.
Choose the Index tab. Type in "diacritics".
From the list choose Diacritic mode mapping. A list of diacritic characters with keyboard equivalents will display. Type in the appropriate keyboard command.
After inserting a diacritic remember to change the keyboard back to "normal" typing: Use Ctrl-D or click on Edit and uncheck Diacritic Mode.
NOTE: Diacritics in the Cataloging Module display before the corresponding letter, the same as in OCLC.
