Connexion Preferences for UIUC Library

To set preferences in Connexion, click on Tools>Options

The following options should be set to insure the correct workflow at UIUC.  Other options may be set according to personal preference.

Access tab
Internet access:  OCLC default
Check Enable statistics logging.

Authorizations tab
Enter your preferred authorization number(s) and password(s).
The default authorization should be the one you use daily.  Then list any others you may need (such as NACO).

Derive record tab
Set as appropriate. Usually check:

04X
08X
1XX
2XX
3XX
4XX
5XX
6XX
7XX
8XX

Export tab
Click Create, click File, and then and then find the path and name of your export file, usually H: Export Voyager Export.dat or C: Voyager Export.dat )

Destination must match what is specified in Voyager Folders/Files plus the filename.

Click on Record characteristics.  Under Bibliographic Record, Record standard should be MARC21 and Character set should be UTF-8 Unicode

Click on Field Export Options.  For Fields to Delete, type 035 and 029 under Bibliographic records

Fonts tab
Must specify Arial Unicode MS

International tab
Click Include all data, with other scripts in 880 fields
