University High School Procedures

University High School nonfiction is cataloged in the same manner as nonfiction for other libraries.  The only exception is that they are given the item status of  "Book 2".

Fiction is cataloged with Fiction as the class and then a cutter line with an Item Type of "Book 3". 

Example: 852  8  ≠b uhf ≠h Fiction  ≠i  H345k ≠t 1
 
Graphic novels are cataloged with a prefix of GN. and then a cutter line.  Also with an Item Type of "Book 3".

Example :  852  8  ≠b uhgn  ≠h GN  ≠i  H345k  ≠t 1 (note that GN is not a prefix and does not have a period after it)

Follow the general guidelines for cataloging graphic novels.
