World Bank Open Data Site

In recent months, the World Bank has opened access to its development indicator statistics and its data. Currently two different APIs provide access to different datasets: one for Indicators (or time series data), and one for Projects (or data on the World Bank’s operations). In addition to World Development Indicators (WDI), such items as Global Development Finance, Africa Development Indicators, East Asia and Pacific Update information , Doing Business, Education Statistics, Gender Statistics, Global Economic Monitor, Health Nutrition and Population Statistics, Millennium Development Goals indicators, Enterprise Surveys, IDA Results Management System, GEM Commodities, Quarterly Public Sector Debt, and World Governance Indicators are available, some in dataset format.

The most recent addition to the information that has been made publicly accessible by the World Bank is the e-Atlas of Global Development. This interactive online tool provides maps and graphs related to over 175 indicators from the World Bank’s development database. You might want to also check out the "Apps for Development" Competition page. Suggested apps include a Bribery Monitor, iTours, and more. Voting has ended, but you might want to explore some of these tools.
