A new experimental resource, the World Treaty Index is currently available in beta mode from the Center for the Study of Complex Systems at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. By January 2011 the creators hope to have around 85,000 treaties available for exploration in the database. The site will be able to calculate histograms, allow the user to search a variety of fields, and allow the information found to be merged with other datasets using the Correlates of War codes. Data can be downloaded in .CSV format. The release of the beta version is to allow for "crowdsourcing" the debugging process.
