Designing Controversial Games
Ian Bogost (professor in Literature, Communication, and Culture from the Georgia Institute of Technology) just had a very thought provoking article come out in Gamasutra - "Persuasive Games: Designing for Tragedy." In the article, he examines games like V-Tech Massacre and Super Columbine Massacre RPG and challenges the video game industry to produce genuine, thought provoking games based on controversial issues such as school shootings that will be accepted into the debate on the issues the way movies like United 93 are.
