Savvy Researcher Workshops

Bio-Ag Researchers --
(Sent to SOLS, IGB, ACES, VetMed, MedSchool, Bioeng, Bioinform, and selected others; sorry for duplications!)

Please find a listing of "Savvy Researcher" workshops that are being offered this Spring by the Library, co-sponsored by the Grad School, at http://www.library.uiuc.edu/bix/pdf/BI/Savvy_Researcher_Spring_2009.pdf. The workshops are geared toward graduate students, but may be attended by any of our researchers.

In creating this flyer, I've selected workshops that I feel will be of benefit to biologists.

I urge faculty, in particular, to take a look at the flyer or follow the link, below -- I think you'll see that there are some you'll want to recommend to your students or post docs.

For a complete listing of the workshops and links for registering for them, please go to:
http://www.library.uiuc.edu/learn/instruction/workshops.html

At a glance, topics include:
* Library Research Skills
* The Grad Student Toolkit
* RefWorks Basics
* Journal Impact Factors
* Finding and Securing Grant Funding
* Plagiarism and Academic Integrity
* Your Research Rights : Ownership Awareness to Maximize the Impact
* Practical Copyright : Considerations for Teaching and Research
* Getting Past Writer's Block

Have a good semester.
