Utilize the power of citation management resources to organize and use your references. Most major bibliographic databases allow you to export selected citations into citation management resources, such as RefWorks and EndNote. You can then insert these citations into your Word document as well as create a bibliography in any of several formatting styles.
RefWorks is a Web-based resource provided by the University Library and Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services (CITES) for UIUC affiliates with access through any campus Library Web page. Campus affiliates will need to register (for free) for an Individual Account that can be accessed from any computer with login. See "RefWorks at UIUC" below for complete details.

EndNote is a client-based software product that must be loaded to your computer. It must be purchased and then loaded onto your computer. Check with your department to see if EndNote is provided through your department. If not, UIUC affiliates can acquire EndNote at a discount through the UIUC SoftWare WebStore. For more information, the see the Campus Information Technologies and Educational Services (CITES) Guide to SoftWare.
