Biographical Note:

Williams is a Professor Emeritus in the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  He served as the Design Architect for the university’s Education Building, and designed several buildings across the state.  In 1981, he published The Urban Stage: A Reflexion of Architecture and Urban Design.

 

Arrangement: 

The Williams Papers have been arranged as a single series, and organized chronologically by architectural project or publication.

 

Scope and Contents of the Materials: 

Consists of photographs, negatives, transparencies, articles, proposals, periodicals, posters, architectural drawings, and two bound books; these materials provide an overview of Williams’ architectural career during the 1960s and 1970s, and include a range of projects that were completed throughout the state of Illinois as well as several that were proposed but never realized.

 

Extent:
