Awards, 1951-55, 1959, 1969, 1980, 1982, 1987   Four folders: Folder 1, 1951-1955: Several programs from universities and organization honoring Reston, including a telegram announcing that Reston would be given an award from Sigma Delta Chi and a newspaper clipping announcing an honorary degree from Colgate University. Also personal correspondence concerning the "Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur" and a letter declining an honorary degree from Kenyon College. Folder 2, 1955: A letter from Nils Y. Wessell of Tufts University to Reston,inviting him to speak at commencement and Reston's reply in both telegram and letter formats. The entries concern politics most often, though this material also contains some personal letters to Reston's sons, genealogical material concerning the Reston family, and expense account statements. Several documents that Wallace refers to are missing, including a 1964 letter to Washington Post publisher Kay Graham and photographs of Reston's 1965 Vietnam airplane crash.
