Compiled by J. B. Casagrande. Collection consists of approximately 800 note cards, typed in Spanish, covering the following areas: mayorazgos, litigios de tierras, tributos, obrajes, yanaconas, gananes, cacicazgos, haciendas, encomiendas. These documents are from the Presidencia de Quito section of the Archive, and are for the most part from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Geographical locations most frequently mentioned include Otavalo, Quito, Latacunga, Ambato, Ibarra, Loja and Riobamba. Cards are ordered by subject, and each entry includes the following information: date of document, sigla, place, subject, title and summary of document, relevant quotations. | ||||||||||||
