Description: Papers of Edwin B. Peebles (1901-1977) of Detroit, Michigan and Bloomington, Illinois including correspondence, notes, journals, diaries, photographs, workpapers, manuscripts, publications and tapes relating to the spiritual world such as his mother and family, the Apostle John, Edgar Cayce, Martin Luther King, Mary (Mother of Jesus), the Apostle Peter, Jesus Christ, Joan of Arc, Mahatma Gandi, Daniel, King David, the Archangel Gabriel, John the Baptist, the Three Wise Men, Omar Khayam, Mark the Disciple, Matthew, Moses and Mary Magdelene. The series includes drafts and proofs of the Kingdom of the Mind (1973) and Hidden Truths (1974); a diary of the Peebles family in Mooresville, Alabama (1854-57, 1864-65) relating to plantations, temperance, slavery, religion, business and the Civil War.
