Description: Papers of Andrew Barr, Jr. '23, M.S. '24 including history of Troop G Illini, letters, taining materials and issues of The Trooper; bulletins of the 317th Cavalry, 65th Cavalry Division of Chicago (1924-25); history (1926), officers photographs (1932, 1940) and memoranda (1938-40) of the 316th Calvary of New England; and scrapbook of newspaper clippings on the 3rd Armored Division action in Belgium and Germay (1945). Also includes correspondence and manuscripts relating to accountancy teaching at Yale University (1926-39); Barr's comments on the auditing procedure regarding the McKesson and Robbins case (1939); SEC reprots on the McKesson and Robbins case, and reports of other agencies on accounting and auditing. Also included are transcripts of interviews of SEC Chief accountants (1988), written contributions of Selected Accounting Practitioners--Andrew Barr, and a collection of accounting books, pamphlets, and maganize articles. Personal items include a large collection of awards and certificates, photographs, diaries (1924-26, 1938-40), account books, appointment books, address books, and financial records. A file on Barr's honorary LL.D. degree and philanthropic support of the University are also included.
