Kammlade (1892- ), state leader of farm advisors and associate director of the Extension Service in Agriculture and Home Economics (1949-60) and Professor of Animal Science and Agricultural Extension (1923-1960), including a tape recorded interview with comments on events surrounding his start in agriculture and his naming as state leader of farm advisors, the founding and development of the Dixon Springs Experiment Station, the establishment of 4-H Club work in Chicago, the relationship between the College of Agriculture and the USDA and Eugene Davenport's insistence that Illinois control its own extension policy, Kammlade's position that the financial connection between the extension service and farm bureaus be maintained and the relationship between and extension service and the Farmers Union and Grange.
