Description: Letterpress copybooks containing the outgoing correspondence of Albert N. Hume, Crop Production Instructor; Orlo D. Center, Crop Production Assistant; Jeremiah G. Mosier, Assistant Professor of Soil Physics; Fred R. Crane, Instructor in Farm Mechanics and Cyril G. Hopkins, Vice Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station with farmers and other citizens concerning crop production and tillage, planting corn and wheat, strains of grain seeds, cow peas, soy beans, seed corn, farm machinery, grain shrinkage, corn judging, fertilizer and limestone, experimental fields and work, publications and Experiment Station Bulletins, laboratory equipment, meetings, Farmers' Institutes and Corn Growers and Stockmens Conventions. Significant documents include a letter on the work of the Experiment Station and its equipment, 7/10/07 and a statement that "soy beans will never take the place of clover as a forage crop in Illinois," 1906.
