- Encyclopedia
of Life Sciences
: A project of the Nature publishing group, The Encyclopedia of Life
Sciences (ELS) comprises over 1,000 articles ( growing monthly) across the
fields of biochemistry, cell biology, developmental biology, ecology,
evolution, genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology,
neuroscience, plant science, physiology, structural biology, virology and
the history of life sciences.
- JSTOR Arts & Science -- A multidisciplinary back file collection of
titles in the areas of art, science, history economics and area studies.
- JSTOR Ecology/ Botany -- Back files of major journals
- JSTOR General Science - Back files of some of the most famous and long
running interdisciplinary science of journals, e. g. the proceedings of both
the Royal Society of London and of the National Academy of Sciences of the
U.S.

- Science - Like Nature, one of the most interdisciplinary scientific journals
- State
Capitol Universe: State Capital Universe allows searching of statutes,
pending bills, and administrative regulations of all fifty states, by keyword
and citation. Martindale-Hubbell summaries of state laws are also searchable
in this database. It includes a legislative directory for each state and
information on policy formation from the National Conference of State
Legislatures, State Net legislative journals, and state newspapers of record.

Science Abstracts: Wilson General Science Abstracts covers 111 English language periodicals
in the physical, life, and health sciences. In addition to feature
articles, WGSI indexes biographical sketches, symposia, conferences,
review articles, selected letters to the editor, and supplements to
journals. Covers 1984-present.
- JSTOR
(Journal Storage): Includes the full-text of over 100 journals in the areas of African
American studies, anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics,
education, finance, history, literature, mathematics, philosophy,
political science, population studies, sociology, and statistics. Most
include full texts of complete journals from their inception up to a
“moving wall.” The moving wall is a fixed period of time ranging, in
most cases, from 2 to 5 years, that defines the gap between the most
recently published issue and the date of the most recent issues available
in JSTOR.

Ulrich International Periodicals Directory
Ulrich's, the premier serials reference source for the past 68 years, provides users
with essential serials bibliographic and access information that ranges from subscription
rates to the latest web sites. Nearly a quarter of a million consumer and trade magazines,
academic and scholarly publications, monographic series, newsletters, newspapers, electronic
publications, 'zines, and many other types of serial publications
and services published throughout the world on all subjects, are meticulously profiled.

Index to Current Urban Documents (ICUD)
ICUD is a guide to the reports and research generated by local government
agencies, civic organizations, academic and research organizations,
public libraries, and metropolitan and regional planning agencies in
approximately 500 selected cities in the United States and Canada.
Indexes over 2,400 documents yearly, providing a spectrum of access
to local information.

IndexMaster
A collection of indices and table of contents from thousands of
legal treatises, representing a coalition of large and small publishers.
This research tool allows searches by keyword, title, author or
publisher. IndexMaster also provides an efficient means of ordering
the titles directly from the publishers (password required). All
documents are in PDF format.

GenderWatch
A full-text database of publications that focus on the impact of gender across a broad spectrum of subject areas.
GenderWatch supports programs in business, education, literature and
the arts, health sciences, history, political science, public policy,
sociology and contemporary culture, gender and women's studies, and
more. Publications include academic and scholarly journals, magazines
, newspapers, newsletters, regional publications, books, booklets and
pamphlets, conference proceedings, and government, n-g-o and special
reports.

Music Index
Topics concerned with every aspect of the classical and popular world of
music are carefully categorized and organized according to the framework
of an internal Subject Heading List. A broad range of subjects are
indexed, covering musicological or organological topics, plus book
reviews, record reviews, first performances, and obituaries. [Added July 2000]

Middle English Compendium
The Middle English Compendium has been designed to offer easy access to and interconnectivity
between three major Middle English electronic resources: an electronic version of the Middle
English Dictionary, a HyperBibliography of Middle English prose and verse, based on the MED
bibliographies, and an associated network of electronic resources, including a
large collection of Middle English texts. [Added July 2000]

Index of Christian Art Database
ICA records works of art produced without geographical limitations from early apolstolic times
up to A.D. 1400. As is to be expected, there is a particular emphasis and focus on art of the western world. Seventeen
different media are represented in the archive, and these include manuscripts, metalwork, sculpture, painting,
glass, and so forth.

Zoological Record
Published by BIOSIS and the Zoological Society of
London, this database covers every aspect of
zoology, including biochemistry, behavior, ecology
evolution, genetics, etc. Over 6,000 serials plus
approximately 1,500 non-serial publications are covered,
including professional journals, magazines, newsletters,
monographs, books, dissertations, and conference

Booksinprint.com is an objective source of bibliographical information on books,
audios and videos. The parent company R.R. Bowker's primary business is to
collect, verify and distribute accurate data designed to meet the needs of
librarians, booksellers and publishers -- not the commerical consumer.
Booksinprint.com features
access to the Publishers Authority Database, a comprehensive database of over
165,000 publishers, distributors, wholesalers and book agents. It further has
the ability to check stock availability with various wholesalers and check their
discount schedules, return policies and more. [Added July 2000]
- EBSCO Online
EBSCO Online in a database offering general, business, newspaper and
health-related information. It provides full text for over 1,250 journals
covering the social sciences, humanities, general science, multi-cultural
studies and education. In addition it contains 960 journals centred around
business, management, economics, finance, banking and accounting. Full text
articles are further available for 143 domestic and foreign newspapers.
A final section Health Information comprises of over 7,000 reports, in
lay terms, describing symptoms, treatments, risks and after-effects of
medical conditions. This is supplemented by nearly 270
health periodicals, pamplets and refernce books, including drug information.

- HarpWeek
HarpWeek offers the full text of Harper's Weekly for the Civil War
and Reconstruction period (1857-1876). Harper's Weekly was published from
1857 to 1900. It was aimed at a middle to upper class family audience.
Containing illustrations by artists such as Thomas Nast and Winslow Homer,
its editorials both shaped and reflected public opinion through last half of
the nineteenth century. It provides a week-to-week, chronological history
of what happened worldwide during this period. [Added June 2000]
- Art Index Retrospective
Art Index Retrospective provides searchable indexing spanning 55 years of art journalism
from 420 noted publications around the globe, reflecting coverage provided from 1929 through 1984. [Added June 2000]
