Online Access to The Chronicle of Higher Education

The University Library is pleased to announce campuswide access to the online edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education. Campus computers now can access all of The Chronicle’s web pages without the requirement of a user name or password. This resource is available as a result of the Library’s participation in the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI), which strives to lead Illinois academic libraries to create a knowledge environment that “furthers teaching, learning, and research through the sharing of collections, expertise, and programs.”

To gain access, please visit the Library’s Online Research Resources, enter “Chronicle of Higher Education” in the Journals tab, and scroll down the page. The link labeled “1995-Present in Full Text” leads directly to The Chronicle’s website without requiring user name or password. For a quick summary of content to which authorized users have access, please visit The Chronicle’s site map.

Access to The Chronicle also provides an opportunity to subscribe to Chronicle RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news feeds. Individuals can set up their computers to receive the feeds on their desktops. Chronicle feeds can be added to college web pages that are dedicated to news items. Plans for additional RSS news feeds in the future are underway.

A listing of all Chronicle e-mail newsletters is available at on the account information page. The Chronicle’s “Daily Report” remains a benefit for those who purchase individual subscriptions.
