Depending on the situation, the following procedures must be followed:
If there is a check-in record, the transfer must be done by Serials Acquisitions or Cataloging:
Anything that is received direct can be submitted to Serials Cataloging to do the transfer.
Please bind all your serials before making any transfers!
If you receive a check-in label that is incorrect, please correct the label by hand AND inform Serials Acquisitions of the error. If the wrong piece was checked in, this has further implications for claiming (the issue will automatically appear on the claims list even though it was received), and when the issue appears that the last item was erroneously checked in as, it will be seen as a duplicate and may be thrown out.
If you notice a title change, please send the most recent issue to Serials Acquisitions (for both those serials which are checked in centrally as well those which are received direct). Because a title change requires a new bibliographic record, a new PO needs to be created. For those titles which are checked in by Acquisitions, a new check-in record also needs to be created. Acquisitions will work with Cataloging to get both the correct bibliographic record as well as PO information into the system, so that patrons can find the serial in the OPAC under its new title.

Acquisitions is no longer claiming anything in print if we also receive it electronically. These have been marked "do not claim" in Voyager and will not appear on the automatically generated claims list. However, we will place a claim if one is requested by the unit.
Issues are marked automatically by Voyager when they are past due. Naomi is reviewing this list weekly. However, if you see something that has not yet been claimed and needs to be, please fill out a blue claim form for Naomi.
Issues marked "System Claim" in Voyager Acquisitions have been identified and marked by Voyager to be claimed. However, this does NOT mean that it has actually been claimed. When an item is claimed by staff in Acquisitions, the status will show as Claimed.
Instructions on how to view a claim are available off the Acquisitions web site at

Claims that have placed with Ebsco can be viewed by anyone in EbscoNet using the generic logon and password.
These should continue to be claimed by the libraries that receive the journals. You should have your own logon and password to access EbscoNet to submit a claim. If not, please send an email to Tonya Webb to request an account.
